7 Tips to Control Persistent Back Pain

7 Tips to Control Persistent Back Pain
Is your back in pain all the time?  Does it affect your life and how active you are?  You are not alone – millions of Americans are afflicted with persistent back pain, and it is the primary reason for disability among individuals under 45 years of age.  The typical response for people with chronic back pain is to become less active, but this can make the pain worse.
People with chronic back pain often decrease their activity level to prevent further damage, and some may stop working altogether.  Cutting back on physical activities that you once enjoyed can dampen your spirit and quality of life, and this may postpone your recovery.  Friends, family members, and employers can also slow your recovery by being too helpful instead of making you more active, which could aid in your recovery.
If you think you have chronic back pain, read on, and learn the signs and symptoms of persistent back pain, the causes for this type of back pain, and some tips on controlling persistent back pain. CBD CAN HELP CLICK HERE NOW

Signs and Symptoms of Back Pain
If you are just beginning to feel pain in your back, here are some warning signals and signs that you could have persistent back pain and that you should monitor it closely:
  • Sudden loss of weight
  • Pain that has lasted for over a month
  • Pain at night
  • You or your family members have had cancer
  • Your pain is not responsive to back pain treatments
  • You have a history of using intravenous drugs
  • You have pain during the night
  • There is trauma or major surgery in your past
  • You have been taking medicines or steroids that lower your immune system
While the causes the back pain can be numerous, much of the time, they share similar symptoms.  The following are symptoms of persistent back pain:
  • Chronic aching or stiffness that runs down your spine from the bottom of your neck to your tailbone
  • Piercing pain that is localized in your upper or lower back or neck and is painful especially after lifting something heavy or doing vigorous activity
  • Pain in your back that extends from your lower back to your buttock and continues along the back of your thighs to your calves and toes
  • Persistent pain in your middle or lower back that feels especially painful after sitting or standing for a long time
  • Difficulty standing straight without feeling pain in your lower back

Causes of Persistent Back Pain

Most people feel pain in their backs at some point in their lives.  The reasons are numerous, and they include sore ligaments, muscles, tendons, broken bones, or herniated discs.  They also include poor habits, injuries from playing sports, accidents, and muscle tears and strains.  The causes of persistent back pain include the following:
  • Pain from spine problems – Pain in your back can be caused by problems in the muscles, discs, and joints of your spine.  For example, a herniated disc results from wear and tear and happens when the soft tissue in your discs has come out.  A degenerative disc occurs when the discs between the vertebrae of your spine wear out and your bones rub together.  If you have spinal stenosis, the size of your spinal canal has decreased, which puts pressure on your nerves and makes you feel numb.
  • Pain from injuries and accidents – Persistent back pain often happens after auto accidents, sports injuries, falls, fractures, and strains.  A hit to your back can break your spine and lead to chronic back pain.  Lifting something too heavy or twisting your back in an awkward position can cause back pain.  Playing sports like football or rugby and weightlifting can lead to strained and torn muscles and tendons in your back.
  • Lifestyle causes – Bad habits frequently result in chronic back pain.  These include bad posture, slouching when sitting down, smoking, lifting objects that are too heavy, using your lower back too much, lack of exercise, smoking, and wearing heels that are too high.
  • Emotional and mental causes – Your emotional and mental condition can affect your physical condition.  Having too much stress in your life, feeling depressed and anxious, and working too much can lead to excess tension in your back.
  • Medical conditions – Conditions like arthritis, spine curvature, cancer, and pregnancy cause inflammation, stiffness, cartilage breakdown, and excess weight, which lead to chronic back pain.

Studies suggest that, if your back pain continues for more than a few months and different treatments have not shown any benefits, it is better to focus on becoming more active than on trying to reduce the pain.  Becoming more active improves your body functions and quality of life, which ultimately reduces your back pain.  Start increasing your activity level slowly, and expect your body to feel worse in the beginning before it gets better.  Here are some tips to help you in becoming more active while suffering from persistent back pain:
  1. Exercise – Begin with simple stretching and cardiovascular exercises like walking, and slowly build up to more advanced strengthening exercises like weightlifting.
  2. Resolve conflicts – Resolve any family or social conflicts as these can increase your stress level and delay your recovery.
  3. Continue working – Stay working, because studies have shown that work gives you a purpose in life and reduces your focus on your back pain.
  4. Avoid relying on medicine – Taking medicine for pain relief can be helpful in getting you to move, but it can make recovery harder as you might begin to rely too much on medication and less on becoming more active to reduce the pain.
  5. Rest and relax – Be sure to take frequent breaks during your activities, get enough sleep, and relax by doing breathing exercises.  Relaxing is important, because it can trigger your body’s natural pain-relieving responses.
  6. Work through the pain – Understand that pain flare-ups are likely to happen, but do not let them slow your activity level.  Continue to work, play sports, exercise, and do household chores to relieve and recover from your back pain.

CBD and Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety disorders like social anxiety are the most common mental health concerns in the United States. An estimated 40 million adults in the U.S. (18%) have an anxiety disorder. Children and teenagers combined are 8% of the U.S. population.
National Alliance on Mental Illness writes:
Most people develop symptoms of anxiety disorders before age 21 and women are 60% more likely to be diagnosed with an anxiety disorder than men.
Rates appear to be higher in the United States and Europe.

CBD impact on anxiety

Studies and reports from patients indicate that as little as a single dose of CBD can drastically reduce social anxiety and related symptoms, such as cognitive impairment, difficulties in speech delivery, and frantic, anticipatory speech.

CBD dosage for anxiety

The recommended dosage is usually mentioned on the CBD product itself. If not, generally take the SOL CBD tincture 1 to 3 times daily. That’s 5 mg of CBD per serving. Start with 1 drop, up to 3 under the tongue for 60 seconds and then swallow.
Alternatively if pills are your preferred method of intake, take 1 to 3 water soluble CBD capsules daily. Taking more is not harmful so you should experiment to find your ideal dose as everyone is different.
You can start with the above recommended dosage and increase the dose if you don’t experience an adequate level of relief. Dr. Al Frankel, M.D., of Greenbridge Medical, a California-based cannabis medical therapy practice has experience treating hundreds of patients for anxiety with CBD. He maintains that very low doses of high-quality cannabis flower extracted CBD, as small as 2mg, are often effective at treating anxiety. Dr. Frankel writes:
For anxiety, I generally start with 4 mg three times daily and in most cases this is enough. If not, I will increase the CBD and sometimes add THC to the cannabinoid regimen.
Alternatively you can start with a high dose for the first 3-4 days which will show you what ‘full relief’ from anxiety should feel like. Some patients reported the need for larger doses of CBD (~30 – 37.5mg), for the first 3-4 days, to help them find relief from severe anxiety. Taking a large dose helps saturate the brain’s cannabinoid receptors and fat cells with CBDAfter experiencing a calm mind, you can down to the lowest dose that gives you an adequate level of relief.
A CBD overdose is practically impossible as it’s known to be non-toxic even at extreme doses of 1500mg per day. For over thousands of years not a single death has been recorded associated with cannabis use. Years of research on the topic have shown there is no fatal overdose level with cannabis use.
Since CBD is non psychoactive compared to THC, it is even more safe as you don’t have to deal with the side effects mostly caused by the THC cannabinoid. It is said that CBD counteracts the THC’s being high or stoned feeling, however from personal experience I found it actually increases the high.
Personally I would not advice THC use for anxiety but you are free to experiment if it can benefit you.

Success stories from anxiety patients

There is an increasing number of reports from patients with anxiety who benefited from CBD in practise and as such confirm the scientific studies & results. Some get widespread media coverage, others are reports from patients done on blogs, social media and videos.

CBD oil and Parkinson's Disease

Evidence recently indicates that CBD provides significant, though temporary relief from the symptoms associated with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease.

What is CBD?

CBD is an abbreviation for cannabidiol oil. It is derived from an extraction process using either the Hemp plant or the Marijuana plant. Extracting CBD allows a consumer the medical benefits of medical marijuana without the high that is associated with THC. CBD in itself has no psychedelic properties and is considered safe for consumption.

Is Purchase and Use of CBD Legal?

It depends actually. If the CBD has been derived from the Marijuana plant, it is legal to purchase and use for medical purposes in states and countries that have legalized marijuana for medical purposes. Many states and countries have not legalized marijuana for medical purposes and many people with Parkinson’s have been unable to purchase CBD for

Impact of CBD on Parkinson’s Symptoms is Temporary

Use of CBD offers symptomatic suppression of Parkinson’s symptoms much like medications and supplements. It does not address the challenge of healing symptoms from the inside out. If your symptoms are to the point of interfering with an ability to live a full and vibrant life, then you clearly do not have the energy, focus or motivation to formulate a realistic healing program to reverse the symptoms. The initiative that is needed to kick start a recovery program is impossible to launch when you are feeling lousy. Use of CBD may just provide the kick start you need to launch a successful journey down the road to recovery.
Research (summarized below) suggests that use of CBD may well offer the opportunity to get temporary relief from symptoms. This is a valuable benefit in itself. When energy, focus and motivation return, the business of taking the actions necessary to heal from the inside out can begin at long last.

CBD Derived from the Hemp Plant

There are a few companies that sell CBD which is not legal in some states because it is extracted from the marijuana plant.  It is also expensive to purchase. A company new to the CBD marketplace, Libre, offers a series of high quality CBD products that are legal in all states because the CBD has been extracted from the Hemp plant.

Research on CBD and Parkinson’s

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of at least 85 active cannabinoids.   Scientific studies are reporting a wide variety of positive health benefits. CBD has been found to be helpful to the endocannabinoid system. Many scientific discoveries link poor health to endocannabinoid deficiencies.
Studies have found positive effects for the use of CBD on anxiety, stress and PTSD. You can find these studies listed at : pubmed.com (the US government’s index of scientific studies). Search and the terms “CBD and anxiety.”
Below are listed three abstracts from recent studies that have studied the effects of CBD on subjects who currently experience Parkinson’s symptoms.

Effects of cannabidiol in the treatment of patients with Parkinson’s disease: an exploratory double-blind trial.

J Psychopharmacol. 2014 Nov;28(11):1088-98. doi: 10.1177/0269881114550355. Epub 2014 Sep 18.

Twenty one (21) subjects were assigned to three groups of seven subjects each who were treated with placebo, cannabidiol (CBD) 75 mg/day or CBD 300 mg/day. One week before the trial and in the last week of treatment subjects were evaluated with respect to  motor and general symptoms score (UPDRS) and well-being and quality of life (PDQ-39).
No statistically significant differences were found in UPDRS scores. Despite the very small sample size, groups treated with placebo and CBD 300 mg/day had significantly different mean total scores in the PDQ-39 (p = 0.05). Significance is very much a factor of sample size, so this result is striking in itself. Findings suggest a possible effect of CBD in improving quality of life measures in PD patients with no psychiatric comorbidities.

Cannabis (medical marijuana) treatment for motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson disease: an open-label observational study

Inhaling whole-plant cannabis provides symptomatic relief in patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD), according to a scientific article published in the March/April edition of the journal Clinical Neuropharmacology. Investigators at Tel Aviv University, Department of Neurology evaluated Parkinson’s disease symptoms in 22 patients at baseline and 30-minutes after inhaling cannabis.
Researchers reported that inhaled cannabis was associated with “significant improvement after treatment in tremor, rigidity, and bradykinsea (slowness of movement). There was also significant improvement of sleep and pain scores. No significant adverse effects of the drug were observed.”
The researchers concluded that their study is “the first to report an amelioration of both motor and non–motor symptoms in patients with PD treated with cannabis. The study opens new venues for treatment strategies in PD especially in patients refractory to current medications.

Cannabidiol can improve complex sleep-related behaviours associated with rapid eye movement sleep behaviour disorder in Parkinson’s disease patients: a case series

J Clin Pharm Ther. 2014 Oct;39(5):564-6. doi: 10.1111/jcpt.12179. Epub 2014 May 21
Chagas MH, Eckeli AL, Zuardi AW, Pena-Pereira MA, Sobreira-Neto MA, Sobreira ET, Camilo MR, Bergamaschi MM, Schenck CH, Hallak JE, Tumas V, Crippa JA.
The administration of cannabidiol (CBD) was found to control sleep disorders in patients who currently experience the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease as reported in the Journal of Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics. An international team of researchers from the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil and the University of Minnesota Medical School USA evaluated the ingestion of CBD by four Parkinson’s disease patients with REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD). This condition is characterized by nightmares and active behavior during dreaming.
Cannabidiol treatment reduced symptoms in each of the four subjects. Symptoms returned with the same frequency and intensity following subjects’ discontinuation of the cannabinoid.

Bottom Line

The CBD treatment options seems to be a good one to consider, especially if you are having significant challenges with functioning on a day to day basis. There is research on the use of CBD that address problems related to trauma, anxiety post traumatic stress – all of which lie at the core cause of neurological difficulties.
As with any natural treatment option, be sure to check with your doctor to insure that use of CBD will not interfere with any treatments your doctor has prescribed for you.

Can CBD make a mole Vanish?

Many of us have been worried about moles, or have an unsightly mole we have wished away. Unfortunately blowing them to the moon has not yet proved successful. But now, CBD for moles has become the new alternative cure according to  The Alternative Daily. CBD, or cannabidiol, the non-psychoactive ingredient found in cannabis, is becoming a very popular skin remedy. It has strong anti-inflammatory properties and is a strong anti-oxidant.

Apply CBD directly on moles

The article says that CBD can be a hassle-free way of getting rid of moles. People simply apply CBD directly onto the mole. The alternative would be surgery, which is rather extreme and expensive. Can this CBD for moles treatment really work? After all, we’d love to get rid of annoying moles without a trip to the doctor. It seems that there’s some logic behind the idea, and a few reports of moles shrinking away.

cbd-for-moles-www.endoca.com

Bulging with age

Moles, or nevi, are cell clusters. They usually appear in childhood and stop developing by the age of 25. They may change over time. Sometimes, they become more raised or bulging. The color may change, and sometimes hair grows out of them. A few centuries ago, people thought moles were beautiful, but sadly, we don’t see them that way anymore!

Mostly harmless

Most moles are benign. There are a few warning signs when people should take moles more seriously. For instance, if they are getting bigger fast, are irregular in shape and color, are bigger than 15 mm, bleeding or oozing, itchy or sore it’s best to see a doctor. In this case, the mole could be a melanoma or skin cancer.

CBD for healthy skin cells

CBD oil is rich in all sorts of skin nutrients. Alternative Daily says it can get rid of moles because it encourages healthy skin cells to grow. It also contains vitamins and fatty acids that keep the skin looking healthy and vibrant. The omegas keep the skin moist and supple. CBD can also be of benefit for other skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and it can reduce wrinkles and fine lines.

Potential treatment for melanoma

Cells in our bodies have receptors for the substances found in cannabis, called cannabinoids. The author of a study on CBD and healthy skin published in British The Journal of Pharmacology in 2013 says cannabidiol and cannabigerol can repress the transcriptional process in cells.

Thus, they can control differentiation and rapid growth of cells. This makes CBD a leading compound in the development of skin treatments. In fact, studies on CBD as a potential treatment for melanoma produced encouraging outcomes.

CBD for moles: no specific research

Anecdotal evidence shows that CBD applied directly to moles over a period of time will make them smaller. However, nobody has ever conducted a scientific study on CBD for moles. That having been said, the theory seems sound enough. We already know that CBD is good for skin, and its anti-inflammatory properties could surely help when they become inflamed.

Alternative Daily admits that it can’t say whether using CBD for moles has a scientific basis, but it concludes that it may help, and certainly can’t hurt.

CBD and Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety disorders like social anxiety are the most common mental health concerns in the United States. An estimated  40 million adult...
